Created live during a guided paint event hosted with The Be You Experience.

"MOCHA ANAHATANA"
Plaster (For texture) & acyrlic on a 18 X 24 canvas
(MAY 11, '22)
With this painting I freestyled creating texture using plaster. I then painted the plaster with acrylic paint. With this canvas I let my emotions guide me. This painting represents how I felt in the moment. I emphasized the heart chakra. The heart chakra is associated with compassion, affection, and love. The energy of The heart chakra starts in the center and expands through the chest. This chakra connects the lower and upper chakras, acting as a bridge between earthly matters and higher aspirations. The sun in this painting represents my ego and the moon represents my emotions. My heart chakra connects my ego and emotions.

"Love is blind" 30 x 30 Acrylic (Jan. 29 '22) the concept behind this piece stemmed from what black history means and looks like to me. Black history is forgiveness, compassion, love and gentleness. i incorporated two darker toned people because unfortunately darker skinned people aren’t allowed to be soft, gentle or have feelings of distress. i highlighted that it’s okay to be black and need help. it’s okay to NOT be a “strong black woman” or a “strong black man”. Darker shade of red was incorporated to represent passion. the yellow moonlight represents light in the tiles of darkness or sadness. it’s a reminder that things do get better eventually. Black people have to continue to have blind love, blind compassion and blind forgiveness for one another. once we all come together to support and uplift each other we will be unstoppable

This work was inspired by the powerpuff girls. There is a song featured in the series called "Love makes the world go round" which tells a story of how love is like color, the more u spread it the happier the world can be. This particular work relates to the theme of unfinished because only the bodies of these women are featured. Their faces are not featured. This painting is expressing how as women, people usually notice our bodies first, people often see women as objects and not people. Getting to know a women beyond the physical is something that is never finished, there is always more to know.
