love is blind original

The concept behind this piece stemmed from what black history means and looks like to me. Black history is forgiveness, compassion, love and gentleness. I incorporated two darker toned people because unfortunately darker skinned people aren’t allowed to be soft, gentle or have feelings of distress. I highlighted that it’s okay to be black and need help. It’s okay to NOT be a “strong black woman” or a “strong black man”. Darker shade of red was incorporated to represent passion. The yellow moonlight represents light in the tiles of darkness or sadness. It’s a reminder that things do get better eventually. Black people have to continue to have blind love, blind compassion and blind forgiveness for one another. Once we all come together to support and uplift each other we will be unstoppable!
